Spiritual Disciplines

Our Charge

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself. A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love one to another.”
Praise God for what He committed to you in Jesus Christ and His Cross. Praise God for the blessings and mercy HE provides you each day. Praise God for the grace HE allows for you to submit to HIS will. Pray to grow in the knowledge, wisdom and revelation of Jesus Christ.

Jesus is your advocate. Enter with thanksgiving and praise for His mercy. Confess sins, admit your shortcomings and personal rebellion to God, ask the Holy Spirit of God for the power to repent from continuing faults, idols and deceptions. Pray for unity amongst the brethren. Most importantly the greatest gift, salvation as you are kept in victory by the power of God in Christ. Pray according to the will of the Father. Not merely that your circumstances would be changed but that He would give you the eyes of Jesus.

Pray that God would renew your mind in Christ and bring light to those in darkness. Pray alone every morning & with your family. This is how you exercise your faith and build strength in your relationship with your Heavenly Father. Discipline your meditations to be pleasing in the sight of God, meditating on His word day and night. Praying without ceasing is having a conscious awareness of God at all times and submitting to the leading of Christ. This is how you are led by the Spirit of God.

Prayer and communion with God is the foundation of your walk with God. A great prayer life leads to a life of praise and thanksgiving. Fundamental discipline: Poor prayer life = poor relationship with God. Vibrant prayer life = great walk with God. The abundant life comes from Jesus Christ. It is not temporal, for it is eternal. Study God's Word

keyStudy the Word

Remember, it is not the amount of Scripture you read and know but what you do with what you know. All of scripture reveals the WORD and is fulfilled and reconciled in the WORD, Jesus the Christ. It reveals creation, fall, redemption and reconciliation of all things by the blood of HIS cross. We build our life on the Rock by hearing the commands of Christ and obeying. When we sin & fail to do so, we run to Jesus realizing HE is our advocate, mediator and righteousness.

Understand the Gospel. Work to release yourself to the authority of living by the Word of God. This allows the Holy Spirit to guide you in all truth. Realize Jesus Christ is the revelation of truth and we are disciples of Him. Focus on the cross for there His resurrection becomes real in your life. Base your life on Jesus Christ and understand John 1:14. Die daily to your lusts and pride. Seek to know one thing, Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. If you are dead in Christ, your life will glorify God and be submitted to the Father. The resurrection will be manifested in your life and heart conforming you to the image of the Son of God. God revealed the Word in the person of Jesus Christ. Christ is to be formed in our hearts through faith.

Tell Others the Good News

keyTell others the Good News

Tell others about the Good News of Jesus Christ and the power of reconciliation in His Gospel. First, your family & friends. Testify of the grace He has offered you and has for others. Testify of His goodness and mercy He has for all. Testify how Jesus absorbed the just wrath we all deserve and offers grace if we repent, believe and follow. Testify of how He overcomes struggles you face and delivers you from daily temptations. Lift up the Cross not ourselves and show where mercy found you!

Share with all that come in your path and help them in any need they may have. See people from their soul out instead of their appearance in. This is how Jesus views you and sees them. Pray to carry His burden as you turn your superficial, selfish, surface concerns to Him. Allow the Cross to crucify your selfish, superficial desires. Esteem others higher than yourself and do nothing out of strife and vain glory. Seek to meet needs in Jesus Name as the Spirit of God leads you proclaiming the Gospel. Be an agent of mercy and reconciliation. Matthew 10:33; John 5:39; Acts 1:8; II Corinthians 3:2; II Corinthians 5 II Timothy 1:7-8

Allow God to deeply search the intent and motives of your heart. We should never desire to receive any attention, glory or honor. It all points to Him! Live a life of praise and thanksgiving.

keyGod Receives the Glory

Always know that God receives all Glory. Are my decisions motivated to glorify God?
You cannot pick up your cross until you deny yourself. If you are seeking glory, attention, affirmation or praise from man, you had better change your position with Christ. Your motives have become selfish, sinful and you are on your way for a fall.

God gives us breath, power and strength to do anything. Pure motive in, pure motive out. Allow God to deeply search the intent and motives of your heart. We should never desire to receive any attention, glory or honor. It all points to Him! Live a life of praise and thanksgiving. Psalm 145:3; 145:21; Psalm 148; Romans 11:36; Galatians 6:14
